In a collaboration between CMSport & Vicsport, they are running an in-person forum to encourage inclusion of women and girls from all backgrounds.
Taking place on Wednesday, June 21, the forum is hosted by Australian Athlete, Nana Owusu-Afriyie, who discusses her own learning through lived experience and best practice for engaging multicultural women and girls, by:
- Increasing participation among multicultural women and girls
- Recruitment and retention of female leaders
- Redistributing important knowledge by the sports sector

The day starts with a networking opportunity, before heading into a discussion with the host,keynote speaker, Aish Ravi (founder of the Women’s Coaching Association) and an expert panel:
- Meghan Mayman: Executive Officer of Regional Sport Victoria (RSV)
- Sarah Styles: Director of the Victorian Government’s Office for Women in Sport and Recreation
- Marta Hintsa: Acting Senior Sport and Recreation Coordinator at Reclink Australia
A series of workshops are conducted by:
- Dr Tuba Boz (Research interests on social cohesion, migration and intercultural interaction) and Megan Harper (Sports Inclusion Officer at the City of Whittlesea in Melbourne’s North)
- Professor Clare Hanlon (Susan Alberti Women in Sport Chair, Victoria University), Amal Hassan-Ali (Western Bulldogs Community Foundation Community Programs Officer) and Nisha Wijesekera (Project Officer – Governance and Integrity, Sport and Recreation Victoria)
