Community sport and recreation facilities throughout Western Australia will relish an increased amount of funding over the next two years.
Following the 2023-24 State Budget, an additional $7.5 million per year was allocated. This positively impacts the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF), as it will increase to $20 million for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 financial years, up from $12.5 million per year.
The State Government is also increasing the maximum grant available to fund major projects, going from $2 million to $2.5 million.
For projects worth up to $500,000, the application process in the form of CSRFF Small Grants has been revamped – the existing Annual Grants category for projects between $300,000 and $500,000 will be consolidated with the Small Grants category.
Small Grants applications will open on July 1, 2023.
A successful Small Grant recipient will get funding for half of their project, with the limit of $200,000 in total funding,
The CSRFF grants are designed to increase participation in sport and recreation, with the quality of facilities to match – as managed by soccer clubs and local governments who can apply for this funding.
